Philippe Hamilton, President of the Auckland Film Society, welcomed delegates on behalf of the host society, and introduced the quest speaker, Mr Richard Prebble, MP for Auckland Central, who then opened the Conference.

Followed by DIRECTOR'S REPORT - 1982 YEAR
As predicted, much of the Meeting was taken up with the financial crisis and flow on effects.
The major extra item was a FILM ARCHIVE REPORT - 1982 YEAR
Ms Aline Sandilands proposed a vote of thanks to the retiring President, Mr Goodbehere, paying tribute to his calmness, knowledge, expertise, support and excellence as a chairman. Mr Goobehere proposed a vote of thanks to the Auckland Film Society for their orgainsation of the Conference. The meeting closed at 5.30pm.
